What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager, Licensing and Standards, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Enforce the regulations of the Snow and Ice By-law on all city sidewalks through the issuance of orders and tickets and by facilitating sidewalk clean-ups
- When violations are observed, interact directly with person(s) to ensure compliance with by-laws is achieved
- Manually and electronically record information/facts with respect to investigation
- Enforce parking restrictions on all city streets, private property, and City parking lots through the issuance of penalty notices (parking tickets)
- Provide back-up to other enforcement officers as required

What you will bring:

- Post-secondary diploma in Police Foundations, Law and Security or equivalent with two (2) years experience in municipal law enforcement, security and/or other municipal operations; an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, to deal effectively with the public in a non-confrontational manner
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to properly complete documentation
- Strong task management skills and ability to complete work within deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong keyboarding skills
- Valid MTO ‘G’ class driver’s licence in good standing with driver’s abstract acceptable to the City is required to perform the job
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

What we will require:

- A Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
- Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licenses and/or educational qualifications, if applicable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $31.31-$39.14 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
