**Position Summary**

Performs various administrative tasks and supports the HR Department’s daily activities.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Responsible for working with new hires in the pre-boarding and onboarding process to make sure all information is accurate, data entry into HRIS and Payroll systems, conducting new hire orientation, etc.
- Initiate changes to the HRIS and Payroll Systems associated with various personnel events such as job or organization changes and salary actions.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs, diversity and inclusion efforts, and organizational development plans.
- Assisting the HR Manager in advising managers and supervisors on legal compliance issues (i.e. Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code legislations, labor laws, etc.) and company policies.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Support all internal and external HR and Payroll related inquiries or requests.
- Ensuring the employee Handbook and Health & Safety Manual is kept up to date by making revisions as new policies and procedures come into effect.
- Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing on bi-weekly frequency including calculation of vacations, commissions, terminations, and other ad-hoc payments as required for both hourly and salary employees.
- Coordinate offboarding processes for departing employees, including exit interviews, final pay processing, and retrieving company property.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and emergency drills, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in safety committee meetings, providing updates and recommendations on health and safety initiatives.
- Taking care of other administrative duties (i.e. photocopying, faxing, scanning, etc.)
- Support Human Resources Manager on other duties assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Must have Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field
- 1-2 years of HR knowledge/experience
- Experience with an HRIS
- Experience with MS office
- Organizational skills
