**The Role**
As the District Operations Technician, reporting to the District Engineer, you’ll assist in the administration, overseeing and monitoring of the road and/or bridge maintenance program. By maintaining and updating the ministry infrastructure inventory systems, delivering and monitoring a variety of special projects, and managing ministry resources, you will ensure smooth operations for ministry and external partners.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Grade 12 or equivalent, a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
- A Technological Diploma, a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- A valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License in good standing.

Related experience includes the following, Preference may be given to applicants with two or more of the following:

- Experience in the field of Highway Maintenance.
- Experienced working with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in an administrative or coordination role including program management (such as budget management, planning or performance management).
- Experience working productively and cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in financial management and contract management.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience.

Provisos
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions and emergency situations affecting the Highway System.

**About this Position**:
This posting is to establish an eligibility list to fill both current and/or future permanent and/or temporary vacancies in Lower Mainland District, including Coquitlam, Squamish, Powell River, Sechelt, and Chilliwack.
There is currently one (1) permanent opportunity available in Coquitlam.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
