Green Team Labourer

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour

Role Description:
Under general supervision, the Green Team Labourer is responsible for (but not exclusive to) the following duties:

- Cut and trim lawns, water the garden, remove litter and perform other related grounds maintenance duties.
- Assist with installing sod and perform other related landscaping duties.
- Operate riding mowers, hand mowers, string trimmers.
- Assist with maintaining Fort Gibraltar.
- Utilize construction and repair techniques from the year 1815 such as chinking and replacing rotten wood while mod matching to maintain a similar character and style from that year.
- Operate cargo vans, pick-up trucks, and utility vehicles for self-transportation and to move materials or equipment used to carry out daily duties.
- Move furniture, materials, and equipment for Festival Du Voyageur.
- Use power tools.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and delivering materials.
- Assist with moving materials and removing debris.
- Perform setups and tear downs for special events.
- Maintain an organized and clean workplace.
- Able to work and learn independently, ask questions when unsure and be a positive representative of Festival Du Voyageur.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Previous experience in construction or landscaping considered an asset.

valid driver’s license considered an asset.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or French.

Understand and be willing to participate in all safety programs and initiatives designed to ensure the well-being of all staff.

Must be physically capable of performing the duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform heavy and repetitive lifting, bending, stretching, etc.

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Must be able to climb ladders.

Satisfactory attendance and punctuality required.

Description du rôle:
Sous une supervision générale, le travailleur ou la travailleuse faisant partie de l’équipe verte s’occupera des tâches telles que:

- couper et tailler les gazons, arroser le jardin, retirer les déchets et effectuer autres tâches liées à l’entretien des terrains;
- offrir un appui avec la mise des mottes de gazon et autres tâches liées à l’aménagement paysager;
- opérer des tracteurs à gazon, des tondeuses à gazon et des taille-bordures;
- offrir un appui avec l’entretien du Fort Gibraltar;
- se servir de techniques de construction et de réparation semblable à celles de l’année 1815 pour maintenir un style semblable de paysage qu’à l’époque;
- opérer des fourgonnettes, des camions et des véhicules utilitaires pour déplacer des matériaux et de l’équipement utilisés afin de compléter les tâches quotidiennes;
- déplacer des meubles, des matériaux et de l’équipement pour le Festival du Voyageur;
- se servir des outils électriques;
- offrir un appui avec le chargement, le déchargement et la livraison des matériaux;
- déplacer des matériaux et enlever les débris;
- monter et démonter les installations pour des événements spéciaux;
- maintenir un lieu de travail organisé et propre;
- être en mesure de travailler et d’apprendre da manière indépendante, de poser des questions et de bien représenter le Festival du Voyageur.

Qualifications et expérience recherchées:
Une précédente expérience dans la construction ou en tant que paysagiste préférée.

Un permis de conduire valide serait considéré un atout.

Un dossier de conduite acceptable et positif.

Une capacité de suivre des directives à l’oral et à l’écrit.

Une capacité de bien communiquer en français et/ou en anglais.

Une compréhension et un vouloir de participer à tous les programmes et les initiatives de sécurité qui assurent le bien-être de tout le personnel.

Une capacité physique étant en mesure de compléter les tâches telles qu’assignées.

Une capacité de pouvoir soulever des objets lourds, de se pencher, de s’étirer, etc. de façon répétitive.

Une capacité de soulever un minimum de 50 livres.

Une capacité de pouvoir monter des échelles.

Une présence et une ponctualité satisfaisantes sont requises.
