Serving students, staff, faculty and our wider community across all three campuses, the VPFA (Vice President Finance and Administration) leads and develops foundational support services to help achieve SFU’s academic, research and community engagement missions. We deliver SFU’s day-to-day operational and administrative needs through the work of Ancillary Services; Facilities Services; Finance; IT Services; and Safety & Risk Services. We collaboratively, respectfully and inclusively engage and work with our community partners to meet the needs of and make a difference in the everyday lives of the people we serve, in addition to creating a vibrant work culture of learning and growth for our over 600 staff.

Ancillary Services is composed of five departments that provide core services to students, faculty, staff and external community. Through Meeting, Event & Conference Services; Food; Bookstore & Spirit Shop; Parking & Sustainable Mobility Services; Document Solutions; and a variety of experience programs, Ancillary Services strives to create vibrant, engaging and welcoming spaces across all three SFU campuses.

The Coordinator, Client Services is the client's principal contact and advisor regarding all event arrangements and services at SFU for in person, on-line and hybrid events. The main responsibility of the Coordinator is to consult with clients to establish meeting objectives; to provide planning services to assist in achieving a successful meeting, event or conference; to coordinate service departments in the efficient production of an event; and to ensure that facility services are rendered according to the contract.

Qualifications:
Diploma in Business Administration, event planning, and/or hospitality management, with four years of related experience including experience in conference and event service planning in the hospitality industry or in a related setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Good knowledge of the industry, its service standards and products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated record of customer service success.
- Ability to manage details of events.
- Ability to prepare and manage event budgets.
- Ability to arrange travel within the Lower Mainland by taxi, public, or personal vehicle.
- Ability to work at all SFU campuses.
