We are Vancouver Island's top dog training facility, specializing in obedience and behavior modification for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including "hard-to-reach cases." Our balanced training approach focuses on leadership, mutual respect, and second chances for every dog.

We are hiring a highly motivated **Operations Manager** to join our growing team This role blends leadership, management, and hands-on dog training, making it ideal for someone passionate about dogs, skilled in team management, and ready to make a meaningful impact.

**Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Operations**
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor staff to promote a high-performance, positive team culture.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage and compliance with labor requirements.
- Deliver performance reviews and recognize team achievements.
- Foster clear communication between the team and the facility owner, acting as a liaison.
- Lead weekly staff and one-on-one meetings to address issues, celebrate wins, and maintain alignment on goals.
- Ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and organized by maintaining and updating cleaning schedules.

**Dog Training**
- Train dogs in obedience, behavior modification, and advanced skills, ensuring all protocols are followed.
- Work with aggressive, reactive, and high-energy dogs, including those weighing over 100 lbs.
- Conduct private and group lessons, coaching clients to maintain and improve their dogs' progress at home.
- Mentor and train new dog trainers, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Administer feeding schedules, medication, and daily check-ins to ensure dogs’ health and well-being.
- Provide clients with updates through written notes, social media, or in-person interactions.

**Client Communication & Business Management**
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction throughout the training process.
- Assist with inquiries about services, programs, and pricing.
- Help develop and implement new training programs and initiatives.
- Track and manage inventory, ordering supplies as needed.
- Maintain expenses within budgetary constraints and maximize efficiency wherever possible.

**Additional Duties**
- Uphold Lead Right Dog Training’s cleaning and safety standards, holding the team accountable for shared responsibilities.
- Take initiative to address tasks that need completing without waiting to be directed.
- Communicate proactively with the owner about concerns, issues, or opportunities for improvement.
- Help maintain a high standard of professionalism and organization in both indoor and outdoor areas.

**Qualifications**
- **Required**:

- Minimum of 5 years of operations management experience.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills for both team and client interactions.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physically fit and able to lift 100 lbs, with stamina for active, outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- **Preferred**:

- Professional dog training experience, particularly in balanced training methods.
- Skilled in using prong collars, e-collars, and other balanced training tools (or willingness to learn).
- Experience in behavior modification and working with reactive/aggressive dogs.
- Videography, photography, or multimedia skills for creating client updates and social media content.
