**Position**

The Learning Assessment Centre (LAC) at the University of Alberta provides secure digital exam services that are convenient and comfortable for students, as well as friendly and efficient for instructors. They offer secure, proctored exams for U of A courses, as well as learners outside of the University that require testing services in the Edmonton area.

The LAC Assistant Lead Proctor oversees students writing digital assessments in the Learning Assessment Centre. Working alongside the LAC Lead Proctor, this position ensures that exams are securely administered while still providing a positive student experience. The LAC Assistant Lead Proctor is responsible for the day-to-day support and organization of the exam schedule in the Learning Assessment Centre. Periodically, the Assistant Lead Proctor may be assigned basic administrative duties and provide additional training to the LAC Part-time Proctor staff.

**Duties**
- Supports student inquiries about the LAC booking process and helps manage the examination schedule
- Answers questions concerning examination procedures, discrepancies in tests and other routine matters; escalates any complex or unusual questions
- Distributes, collects and counts examination materials
- Provide exceptional customer service to all clients by greeting students in a friendly manner and following all rules and regulations
- Provide basic troubleshooting for some of the hardware and software located in the Learning Assessment Centre (LAC); any issues requiring administrative rights to computer or exam software must be escalated
- Reports rule violations and/or unusual occurrences during examinations to the supervisor

**Minimum Qualifications**
- High School diploma or higher
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instruction, along with the ability to give clear and concise instructions to students
- Ability to work well in a team environment, demonstrating accountability
- Adaptable, agile and technologically savvy; advanced capacity with MS Office suite, Google Applications and enterprise Learning Management Systems
- Proven dedication to superior customer service with a strong commitment to student services
- Exceptional organizational skills and a proven record of attending to important details
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen and communicate effectively and sensitively, including cross-cultural sensitivity and an ability to interact with distressed or difficult individuals

Technology Related Skills Required
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both a Windows and Macintosh environment, as well with different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and IE).

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Knowledge of University environment, its regulations, policies and procedures are a definite asset
- Working knowledge of computers and/or different software is an asset.
