Jr. Manufacturing Technician

1. Responsible for preparing engineering fabrication packages and other process documentation for the manufacturing of custom fabrications.
2. Create CAD “flat” layouts for formed parts and drawings for plasma / laser cutting.
3. Design fixtures and templates to assist / improve manufacturability.
4. Produce detailed, approval drawings; final drawings and specifications (CAD) to produce design specifications, including bills of material and costing.
5. Meet with clients / project managers to establish the design brief including the concept, performance and production criteria.
6. Brainstorming as part of a team to develop design concepts.
7. Calculating material consumption.
8. Investigate manufacturing quality issues and implement corrective actions.
9. Work closely with customers / suppliers to clarify requirements.
10. Assist in quoting new parts.
11. Inspect welds and fabrication quality.
12. Support weld shop with drawing questions, fit up issues and weld procedures.
13. Manage project from start to finish.
14. Continuous Improvement.
15. Investigate alternative process plans.
16. Occasionally travelling to clients’ production facilities and evaluating the feasibility of production.
**Education**
Mechanical/Manufacturing/Welding Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year relevant manufacturing / fabrication experience.
**Skills**
1. Ability to understand manufacturing floor processes, material specifications, costing, and shop floor terminology.
2. Proficient in **Solid works** in a must. Autocad and MS Office
3. Must be a team player.
4. Ability to collaborate with others or work independently.
5. Strong interpersonal, organization, analytical and communication skills.
6. Cost Conscious
7. Detail Oriented
8. Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
9. Good time management skills.
10. Capable of prioritizing changing work load.
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
- Autocad: 1 year (preferred)
- SolidWorks: 2 years (preferred)
