**JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY**

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of high quality, internal and external strategic communications programs in support of the organization’s strategic goals and priorities.

**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the creation and development of a wide range of communication materials including internal newsletters, press releases, briefing notes, speaking notes, corporate memos and PowerPoint presentations for various internal and external communication initiatives
- Support for the Communications and Public Affairs team by facilitating the organization and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure the operational efficiency of the department
- Project manage Communications and Public Affairs team deliverables
- Track and coordinate communications activities throughout the organization, includes liaising with other departments to determine their communications activities
- Coordinate the development of event logistics to successfully execute large internal and external events

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**

**_ Knowledge, Experience and Skills_**
- University and/or college degree in communications, public relations or journalism
- Strong writing, editing and production skills
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including, senior leaders, clinical and operational program leaders and front line staff, volunteers, media, government and community partners
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to manage and respond to issues, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Results-oriented and client-focused with a commitment to excellence
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset
