**The Role**
- The Department of Disability and Community Studies has four related programs (Classroom and Community Support, Education Assistance & Inclusion, Behaviour Intervention, & Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis) that prepare reflective practitioners for inclusive support in educational and community-based settings. Instructors in the department typically teach a range of academic and practicum courses. This position requires a faculty member to teach in the Classroom & Community Support Diploma and also the Education Assistance & Inclusion Certificate.**Responsibilities**
- You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain high quality learner-centred instruction.
- Additional duties include curriculum development & review, building and taking part in community committees and initiatives, as well as active participation in department, faculty, and college-wide committees.

**To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need**
- Preference given to applicants with who have direct experience working with children, youth and adults with disabilities.
- Experience in teaching applied knowledge and skills to post-secondary students an asset.

b) fluent and knowledgeable with current AAC systems most used in schools and communities.
c) work and knowledge related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
d) social/emotional learning and associated practices
e) wholistic trauma-sensitive practices to support children, youth, and adults
f) ability to support students in practice settings, including school and community environments.
- Excellent communication & time management skills.
- Interest and/or proficiency in technology using an online-based teaching & learning platform.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team setting.
