UAS Canada Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of production lines and equipment for agri-business and petfood processing industries. We sell our product domestically and internationally. Our 23,000 sq ft fabrication facility is located in Abbotsford, BC.
**Who you are**
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a key role in our accounting operations. The Bookkeeper is responsible for recording the company's financial transctions and maintaining financial records in an accurate and timely manner, in addition to ensuring compliance with the BC Ministry of Finance, Canada Revenue Agency and WorkSafeBC regulations. We are in the process of transitioning to a CRM and ERP platform, and accounting tasks will be moved to this platform once implemented.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Record and process all financial transactions (A/R, A/P, payroll) in accounting software (currently using Quickbooks Desktop)
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Process invoices, payments, customer invoicing in a timely manner
- Calculate and file GST and PST returns monthly
- Prepare and remit payroll taxes, GST, PST, WorkSafeBC premiums, and other statutory remittances
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and reports
- Provide financial data and reports to management as requested
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll (collect timesheets, calculate and process payroll, maintain payroll records)
- Assist with year-end financial statements and tax returns compilation with external accountants and provide supporting documentation
- Maintain organised financial records and filing systems
- Process intercompany transactions between affiliated companies
- Comply with GAAP principles, accounting policies/procedures
- Administer employee extended health/dental benefit plans
- Process benefit enrollments and terminations
- Liaise with benefit providers regarding plan updates/changes
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience. Experience in industrial manufacturing would be an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian payroll/tax/benefits regulations
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is an asset
- Strong numerical/data entry skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage deadlines and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work with mínimal supervision
- Good problem-solving, time management and organisational skills
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field would be an asset.
