**Career Opportunity**:

- We are looking for a Specialist, Freedom of Information to join our team**What You Will Do**:

- Reporting to the Coordinator, Freedom of Information, you will be responsible for reviewing corporate records for exemptions and formulating access decisions under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).- You will review and respond to freedom of information requests made by the public under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).
- As Specialist, Freedom of Information, you will communicate with requesters (including media, law firms, government representatives, third-party organizations and members of the public) to clarify and resolve issues that arise.
- Develop fee estimates and collect fees where applicable.
- You will work with staff in all departments to identify and gather responsive records; follow up to obtain incomplete or missing information or records
- You will track requests, document the review process, maintain records and ensure the TTC meets all legislative requirements and obligations.
- Assist with the administration of the TTC’s inactive physical records program, including verifying the use of appropriate retention codes, retrieval of boxes from the contracted Records Centre and the secured destruction of records that have met their retention requirements
- You will assist the Coordinator - Records Management and FOI in ensuring corporate compliance with rules and regulations set out in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).
- Provide administrative support to the Coordinator - Records Management and FOI as required.
- You will be required to participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program.
