**JOB DESCRIPTION**:Human Resources Assistant

**PRIMARY PURPOSE**:
The Human Resources Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department's daily operations and initiatives. This position involves hands-on tasks in various HR functions, ensuring the effective execution of HR policies and procedures.

**End Date**:March 31st, 2023, with possibility of extension
**Pay Rate: $**18 per hour

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- HR Administration: _
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
- Provide clerical support to HR staff, including document preparation and data entry.
- Recruitment Support: _
- Coordinate logistics for recruitment efforts, including scheduling interviews, preparing interview questions, and organizing hiring events.
- Assist in the new employee onboarding process, including preparing orientation materials and coordinating orientation sessions.
- Employee Relations: _
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, directing them to appropriate resources or HR personnel.
- Assist in the resolution of basic employee issues, referring complex cases to senior HR staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of employee engagement activities and initiatives.
- Training and Development: _
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, booking venues, and preparing materials.
- Assist in tracking employee training records and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
- Support the HR team in identifying training needs and opportunities for staff development.
- Performance Management: _

- Assist in the coordination and administration of the annual performance review process.
- Support the HR team in gathering and compiling performance data and feedback.
- Contribute to the development of performance improvement plans and strategies.
- Compliance: _
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Help maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in the review and updating of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Education: Pursuing or completed a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business
Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 1 years of experience in an HR support role or entry level.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency in HR software and tools.
Characteristics: Team player, highly organized, ability to maintain confidentiality, eager to learn and grow in the HR field.

You will need to provide certain administrative documents if offered employment, including:

- Proof of ID (copy of Birth Certificate, Passport, Permanent Resident card)
- Proof of Enrollment for post-secondary college or university indicating enrollment during employment
- TD1 & TD1ON completed
- Direct deposit slip from a financial institution

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Human resources: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Beamsville, ON L3J 1B0
