**About the Data, Analytics and Visualization Services Branch**

We specialize in data, analytics and visualization. Our mandate is to advance York Region as a data-informed organization. Our team embraces digital standards; uses data for good, and is continually developing our capability and value proposition to the organization. **Who we are looking for**
York Region is looking for a well-rounded Data Analyst with specialization in GIS. You intrinsically know that working well with people is the key to working with data. You are helpful, motivated, professional, and communicative. You love data and peruse data catalogues for fun. **What gets you considered**
You have an College Diploma in Computer Information, Geomatics, Information Technology, or related field with learned expertise in location analytics/GIS. You have a minimum 5 years of experience working in a GIS/Data professional role. You have initiative and a positive attitude. You are very adept with tools of the trade such as ArcGIS, FME, Python, R, Power BI. You can speak advanced SQL, and masterfully work with all types of spatial data. You can communicate well - spoken and written and use communications tools effectively.You have an understanding of ideation, process mapping, requirements gathering, and project planning. Ideally, you have some domain knowledge in one or more areas of planning and economics, health and environment, transportation and transit. Any accreditation, such as Certified Analytics Professional or GISP is noteworthy but not required.
