Under the direction of the Manager, Legislative Services and working with Corporate Asset Management, the Risk Management Analyst is responsible for:
Insurance/Claims - Identifying the risks that the Town may be exposed to through review, analysis, and investigation and to develop and administer programs to reduce or eliminate those risks through risk control and insurance claim management.

Asset Management - Advance recommendations from the Asset Management Strategy including developing an actionable plan for the Corporate Risk Strategy and Framework, and governance to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the Town’s operational and strategic risk.

Job Requirements
- Formal post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of, or in progress to complete within one year, certification in Business Continuity Planning, Certified Risk Management Professional.
- Certified Insurance Professional (CIP), Certified Risk Management (CRM) Emergency Management certification/training or membership in related professional associations, would be an asset.
- Significant demonstrated progressive experience in a municipal environment and/or a broad extensive knowledge of a variety of municipal services, asset risk management, development and implementation of risk policies and practices.
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies, documentation and practices, insurance case law and the Municipal Act, Municipal Regulations, such as the Minimum Maintenance Standards. Knowledge of the civil litigation, Tort law, insurance terminology, processes, and procedures.
- Excellent record keeping, customer service, negotiation, analytical, investigative, organizational, time and budget management, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in public relations to deal with the public, elected officials, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated comfort level with the Internet.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills including report writing; attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
- Experience in research methodologies, information gathering and the analysis of data.
- Thorough experience in developing policies, procedures and strategies and designing and delivering training and common strategies on risk management practices to all levels of staff.
- Valid Class G Driver’s license in good standing with access to a personal reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
- Ability to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime as required.
