We are currently hiring for the position of:
**INTERN, VOLUNTEERS**

The Intern will work with the Audience and Community department to prepare for the 2023 Festival by assisting with the recruitment, training, and scheduling of TIFF volunteers. The role will also be accountable for providing support in relation to mentorship initiatives for volunteers, as well as supervision for our group of Youth volunteers in the summer months.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Shall include but not be limited to:_- Assist the Volunteer Office staff in liaising with departmental staff on protocol and schedules for volunteers during the Festival, including generating minutes from all meetings- Help facilitate Festival Volunteer Training Sessions, communicating TIFF Festival policies and information- Assist in planning and executing initiatives designed to promote skill development, including, but not limited to, the Volunteer Mentorship Programme- Help compile and coordinate position descriptions for specialized roles so they can be distributed to qualifying volunteers- Manage a portfolio of Festival Youth volunteer team, leading all aspects of recruitment, training and scheduling for the team- Review venue selection requests made by volunteers during onboarding process and approve requests or reassign to new venues- Assist with reviewing Festival Volunteer Training Sessions materials as needed- Help prepare year-round volunteer timesheets and process all digital vouchers earned for the shifts- Oversee onboarding processes including t-shirt/ID badge/button pick up station and preparing/managing inventory of these supplies- Ensure all volunteer records and volunteer position descriptions in the volunteer database are up-to-date and accurate- Track volunteer attendance, cancellations, skills, rewards, and performance- Assist Volunteer Office team with administrative tasks as requested- Create a comfortable, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where all volunteers feel appreciated- Complete a detailed post-mortem before the end of the contract

**FOR STAFF WHO SUPERVISE VOLUNTEERS**- Participate in Volunteer Department offered training “Working with Volunteers” Workshop- Clearly define expectations and provide training on task(s) to be completed by volunteer(s)- Create an inclusive work environment that ensures that volunteers feel welcome and that they are part of the TIFF team- Submit day-to-day volunteer requests to the Volunteer Department at least 48 hours in advance- Submit event volunteer requests prior to deadline (Next Wave, Toronto International Film Festival)- Provide feedback to volunteers on their performance and submit regular performance evaluations to the Volunteer Department

**RATE OF PAY**:
- $ 15.50/Hourly

- July 10, 2023-September 2, 2023- possibility for extension

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
- An interest and/or background in volunteer management, arts administration or talent acquisition- Highly proficient computer skills (knowledge of Keynote, Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs, InDesign, etc.)- Comfortable presenting to and engaging with large groups of volunteers and staff in a personable and professional manner- Experience with online database management is an asset- Strong organizational skills with extreme attention to detail- Ability to multitask, with a willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and circumstances- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open-concept environment- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner- Ability to handle difficult situations and people with positive, problem-solving attitude- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
