We are looking for a Medical Lab Assistant based out of Vancouver, BC who values the professional satisfaction of delivering thoughtful, compassionate care to the highest standards. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Clinical Operations, the Medical Lab Assistant practices to the full scope of the standards of practice as established by the national registration body, Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and works in close collaboration with the interprofessional clinical team to manage the delivery of clinical services. The Medical Lab Assistant is an advocate and a navigator, delivering thoughtful and compassionate care of the highest standard.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collecting client specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples, using appropriate collection methods and equipment.
- Performing a variety of tests and diagnostics including phlebotomy, urine ,12 lead ECG, measurements, Holter Monitor, Mortara, 24hour ABPM, audiogram, visual acuity, tonometry, spirometry, and pharmacogenetics program.
- Oversee inventory control of medical supplies, assess stock levels, expiration dates, and ensure overall supply organization. Collaborate with the RN and Lab team to optimize supply chain processes.
- Operate autoclaving equipment to sterilize medical instruments and equipment, following established protocols.
- Preparing and processing specimens for laboratory analysis, such as centrifugation, separating serum or plasma from blood, and labeling specimens with the correct client information.
- Keeping accurate records of client information, test results, and other laboratory data to ensure the integrity of laboratory results and maintain client confidentiality.
- Following strict safety protocols and adhere to laboratory policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicating with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, or other laboratory personnel to ensure that laboratory results are accurate and meet the needs of the client.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.

**What you bring**:

- Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant program
- Completion of the CSMLS exam
- Active registration with the CSMLS
- At least one year of clinical experience

**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
