Salt Spring Island, Canada Hastings House Country House Hotel Full time

We're expanding our team Hastings House’s Manor Dining offers a gourmet culinary experience in three dining spaces - the Terrace, the Heritage dining rooms and the glassed-in vaulted Verandah. Servers work in a lovely five-star Relais and Chateaux hotel restaurant with a cooperative and enthusiastic team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understanding the general theme and content of menus and being able to suggest alternatives as needed or requested
- Arriving on time and dressed professionally for work in a semi-formal dining room.
- Accurately noting and submitting orders with detailed specifications
- Working in tandem with the chefs so that diners’ evenings flow in a pleasing and timely manner
- Knowledge of the hotel offerings and our farm-to-table philosophy

**Skills**:

- One year minimum experience as a server
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Understanding and knowledge of the fine dining restaurant industry is a definite asset
- The utmost professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Serving It Right certification

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
