Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, SMS, this position supports aviation safety at Porter Airlines through assessment of company safety performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Reviews and classifies data for the purpose of extracting patterns predictive of safety hazards
- Uses reactive, proactive and predictive methodologies to analyze safety data, identifying trends and presenting trend analysis reports of company safety performance
- Administers safety data reporting required by Transport Canada and other industry data sharing programs (Flight Data Exchange (FDX), Incident Data eXchange (IDX))
- Provides guidance to Departmental Safety Assurance Managers regarding the progress and completion of investigations, analyses, implementation of corrective action, and audit processes with a view to improving the effectiveness of these processes
- Supports the administration of the Safety Management System
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understands and promotes the Company’s Safety Policy
- Completes other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- 2 -3 years previous experience of working in the safety management system of a CAR 705 commercial airline
- Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for a safety management system
- Prior experience in the conduct of trend analysis using IATA safety hazard taxonomy
- Proficiency with Tableau data visualization software
- Experience in the development, implementation and promotion of quality management, quality assurance or risk management programs
- Training in data science and predictive analytics
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail
- Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
