Forestry and Parks - Responsible for growing our manufactured wood products and forestry sector, preserving, and managing our public lands and protected areas. **Role Responsibilities**:
Are you passionate about Alberta's public rangelands and eager to make a significant impact on their conservation and stewardship? We are seeking an Area Range Management Specialist (ARMS) who will be at the forefront of developing strategies, processes, and standards to enhance the sustainability of our public rangelands. As an ARMS, you will play a pivotal role in connecting range science to regulatory systems, business plans, and grazing disposition stewardship. Your responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of Range Plant Community Guides and the ECOSYS database, contributing to provincial programs, and ensuring ecologically sustainable stocking rates. You will also be instrumental in fostering sustainable conservation through policy development, supporting the Rangeland Stewardship and Land Use Policy Section, and implementing provincial standards for grazing allocation and monitoring.

In this dynamic role, you will be a key player in transferring knowledge, providing training, and mentoring FP staff and various stakeholders. Your expertise in ecological tools, ranging from Range Plant Community Guides to Range Health Assessments, will be crucial in guiding the grazing disposition allocation, monitoring, and renewal processes. Additionally, your collaboration with partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and academia, will lead to innovative solutions for emerging challenges in rangeland stewardship, conservation, and integration.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- A University Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- Plus 3 years of related experience.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Currently registered as a Professional Agrologist or eligible for in-training status (AIT) from the Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA).

**Assets include**:

- Standard First Aid and Basic CPR
- Advanced knowledge of range ecology, plant and soil taxonomy, and ecological classification.
- Proficiency in research methods, vegetation survey techniques, biometrics, and statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of spatial and electronic data systems, including GIS, GPS, and databases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plant physiology, livestock production, wildlife interactions, and rangeland reclamation.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies governing public grazing dispositions and
