This position may be located in any of our Canadian offices. The hours for this position are either 8:30am-4:30pm EST or 9:00am-5:00pm EST.

Salary range: $52,000 - $65,000

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Utilize a variety of software programs to handle word processing requests, including revising legal documents, blacklining, formatting, fixing corrupt documents, correspondence, and transcription;
- Document preparation, drafting and revising court documents and agreements;
- Convert and format PDFs to Word;
- Understanding and familiarity with various legal precedents and procedures;
- General administrative duties, including entering timesheets.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant position
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program or relevant experience;
- Advanced PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.);
- Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset (written/spoken);
- Strong attention to detail;
- Able to use good judgment and maintain professionalism;
- Able to ensure utmost confidentiality and use of discretion at all times;
- Dedicated to providing quality service to clients and service beyond expectations;
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills with ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse group of individuals;
- Strong ability to perform well and be unfailingly diplomatic in a high pressure environment with multiple clients;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions;
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with all staff;
- Ability to conduct all duties in English is essential. This is due to the cross-Canada and international nature of DLA Piper and the fact that the vast majority of the employees being served by this position are located in Canadian provinces other than Quebec and only read and speak English.
