Hours: 40 hours (including paid lunch hour), generally daytime with some flexibility

Location: Onsite

**Position Overview**

The primary function of the Program Facilitator position is to:

- Drop-in center administration
- Coordinate program activities and operations
- Provide phone and drop-in center support to clients through referrals and information
- Other duties to assist program operations as assigned

**_This position requires access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license. _

**Responsibilities**

Program and Drop-In Centre Administration
- May provide supportive counselling, referrals and education regarding domestic violence or triage calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Manages intake list and high-risk forms.
- Provides general office and administrative support to include, HIFIS data entry, office supply orders, organizational tasks, client mail administration, filing and digitizing, etc.
- Oversee office sanitizing, organizing and upkeep protocols.
- Coordinates in-kind donation drop-off, pick up and the collection of donor information, as needed.
- Maintains excellent program meeting minutes and distributes notes/follow up items post meeting.
- Works with team to coordinate social activities and community building events for clients.
- Supports the development and implementation of client feedback under supervision.
- Provides statistical reports and program updates to staff team and/or to program funders as required, with support from Executive Director.
- Provides scheduling assistance.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Program Facilitation**
- Administers Food Security Program for clients by facilitating grocery and clothes shopping.
- Contributes to development and review of relevant protocols, policies and procedures, as required.
- Executes food safety routines, including kitchen maintenance, temperatures, food storage protocols, routine and deep cleaning procedures.
- Coordinates grocery-shopping, pick-up, delivery and store/perk accounts.
- Occasionally supervises volunteers engaging in food security program projects.
- Administers online education platforms (i.e. Alice on the Go), sign-up communications and applies forum discussion questions.
- Supports development of client-facing program marketing materials and written communications.
- Assists with planning social events and skill-building activities to benefit client independence and adjustment.

**General Program Facilitation and Support**
- Occasionally provides child-care and child-centered play activities while mom/siblings are in counselling sessions.
- Provides program and service assistance as requested.
- Liases with community partners to ensure mutual awareness of service offerings.
- Program evaluation data collected and reported to management.
- Provides generally assistance and support to clinicians and program managers on various organizational projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills/Qualifications**
- Degree, diploma and /or equivalent experience in a human service (or related field).
- Access to a reliable vehicle and driver's license required.
- Strong written and verbal comprehension and communication in the English language.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team-based dynamic at different times.
- Must be cognizant of the issues, concerns, and struggles that are faced by women and their children experiencing family violence.
- Familiarity with Canva and basic design skills is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of community agencies and services available to women in Halifax Region.
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify gaps and proactively contribute to team workloads as time allows.
- Holds in strictest confidence client’s personal information and maintain professionalism amongst client and peer interactions.
- Possesses strong boundaries and work ethic.
- Takes a collaborative and flexible approach to day-to-day work.
- Able to work primarily from home but able to facilitate groups or attend in person meetings when required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with people from all different backgrounds and at differing levels of healing and independence after traumatic experiences.
