Reporting to the Director Commissioning and Integrated Logistic Support, the Deactivation/Reactivation Manager is responsible to implement and control the systematic deactivation of all shipboard systems, support the Project Management Office throughout the production and completion phase, implement and control the systematic reactivation of all shipboard systems to hand back to the client.

More specifically, you will:

- Produce vessel-specific STW documentation, task-specific risk analysis, permit to work and livening up notices in line with the department procedures.
- Work closely with the Production and Quality Control Departments to establish system completion and readiness for start up.
- Work closely with the client to ensure their involvement, agreement and signing off the procedure and STW documentation.
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to systematically bring the vessel live and to safely hand over to the client for their internal commissioning.
- Undertake a full system analysis to determine if the shipboard systems are in alignment with the supporting documentation. Provide red lines to the client as required.
- Produce weekly and monthly update reports as required by the contract deliverables and the PMO.
- Evaluate client’s work description and prepare work packages for the workforce to carry out the work as per the client’s requirements.
- Determine the level of additional support required throughout the various milestones in the project to support the activities.
- Establish priorities for production work based on reactivation requirements contained within the critical path to reduce the risk of delays to the project.
- Perform risk assessment to reactivation activities in collaboration with the client and Production and HSE Departments.
- Continually promote HSE awareness within your team and the corporation by leading by example and providing instruction, information, training, and supervision to ensure the safe performance of all employees involved in your daily operations.
- Organize and setup any required test configurations, ensuring all equipment required to conduct the test is onsite and available as required by the test plans and/or test standards.
- Establish sequence and prerequisites to each of the system’s reactivation phase based on client’s scope of work.
- Work closely with the Planning and Scheduling Departments to produce the integrated master schedule.
- Support the estimating team with technical input as required.

**Requirements**:

- Marine engineering qualification. Chief engineer certification would be preferable.
- Proven track record in STW/commissioning activities on vessel life extension programs.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the field of marine engineering (experience as Chief engineer is preferable) either at sea or shipyard related.
- Full working knowledge of typical vessel systems such as:Marine diesel engines;
All ancillary supporting equipment typical to an engine room;
Electrical power generation;
Propulsion equipment including rudders and CPP systems;
HVAC and refrigeration systems;
Fresh water production systems;
Sewage and sanitary systems;
Watertight sliding doors and hatches;
Marine boilers;
Bilge and ballast systems;
Tank gauging systems;
Fuel and lube oil transfer systems;
Navigation systems;
Fire safety and suppression systems.
- To be selected, you must undergo the investigation and security clearance process required under the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
