**Duties**:
Reporting to a Manager in the National Fire Management Program, you will coordinate and implement key elements of the National Fire Management Program which could include fire management planning, wildfire preparedness and response, prevention and mitigation, prescribed fire, National Incident Management Teams, equipment and contracting, occupational health and safety, aviation management and/or training. You will provide support and expert advice on key elements of the National Fire Management Program to Field Units with fire-prone ecosystems. During the fire season, you will be rostered on a National Incident Management Team and periodically perform the role of National Duty Officer, on standby 7-days/week, 24-hours/day.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization
in a field relevant to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and
experience in a field relevant to the position.
AND
An advanced level of training in wildland fire management (as an example, successful completion of Advanced Wildland Fire Behavior course or an equivalent).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:

- EXP-02 Recent* experience in prescribed fire or fire risk reduction projects.
- EXP-03 Recent* experience in command/ coordination level in wildland fire line operations (minimum of 2 incidents/Prescribed fires).
- EXP-04 Recent* experience in liaison and partnership development with other government agencies related to wildland fire management.
- Recent is define as in the past five years.

**Significant is define as having performed complex activities related to this task in a variety of situations.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES:

- EXS-01Recent* experience in supervising staff.
- EXS-02 Experience in collaborating with Indigenous people.
- EXS-03 Experience with procurement and contracting (e.g. Contract development).
- EXS-04 Recent* experience in planning and implementing prescribed fire and/or fuel reduction

projects.
- EXS-05 Experience delivering training to adult learners.
- EXS-06 Recent* and significant** experience being a Field Unit and/or National Wildland Fire

Duty Officer, or equivalent experience, responding to emergencies on a cellular phone, during
extending hours (e.g. 24 hours on stand-by, many days in a row).
