Vancouver, Canada PubCo Reporting Solutions Full time

**Overview**
We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team. The Controller oversees all financial processes and is responsible for ensuring timely and relevant reporting of overall financial performance A.C.L. Construction and its related entities. This comprises overseeing the full accounting process, including the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles, accounts receivable and payable, budget variance reporting, and cash flow management. The Controller ensures accounting policy and practice are followed to mitigate risks and increase accuracy of analysis. The Controller works closely with other senior management to provide analysis and recommendations to the CFO that will ensure A.C.L. Construction excels.

**Duties**
Finance - Analysis
- Manages cash flow and working capital, using cash flow forecasting to make strategic and timely recommendations regarding cash position.
- Coordinates and directs budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Leads budget and financial statement review meetings, making recommendations for improvement.
- Mitigates risk through analysis and makes recommendations for improvements.

Finance - Operations
- Develops and monitors annual budget, in conjunction with the CFO.
- Monitors and seeks to improve costs on a regular basis.
- Manages bank, investment, and credit card accounts and associated transactions in conjunction with Office Manager.
- Maintains reliable and secure accounting systems to mitigate risks for the company.
- Ensures proper approval processes are in place for payment, bank access, and other financial systems to ensure the safety and security of A.C.L. Construction.
- Oversees accounting operations including billing, A/R and A/P.
- Reviews contracts and terms for customer, vendor and lender agreements.
- Maintains inventory account listing, participates in inventory counts and reconciles variances between count and listing.

Finance - Reporting
- Oversees the timely preparation of month-end and quarter-end reporting.
- Prepares year-end documentation for annual audit.
- Manages financial systems including structure/design, chart of accounts, report writing, user base, and access controls.
- Manages and complies with municipal, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements, tax filings, and other legislation.
- Supervises all bank and credit card reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintains schedules for capital assets, leases and loans.

General
- Contributes to a culture of team building and continuous improvement.
- Creates and updates process flows, procedures, checklists, and other documentation.
- Attends regular meetings, and other meetings as required including strategic meetings as requested.

**Qualifications**

**Education**
- Post-Secondary degree in a relevant field (business, accounting, economics).
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an asset.

**Experience**
- 5+ years’ experience in a professional accounting role.
- Experience using common accounting software including **Sage**.
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset.

**Skills**
- Intermediate understanding of management accounting best practices.
- Able to analyze and explain detailed financial information.
- Ability to manage ongoing deadlines and ensuring accurate completion.
- Proficient in financial process design.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
