This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for the position of Biologist or Environmental Specialist, supporting our EDI Grande Prairie team on various projects throughout Alberta, as well as western Canada.
- Conduct/lead field surveys including aquatic or terrestrial components of baseline inventories, effects assessments and/or environmental monitoring, as appropriate
- Communicate with existing and potential clients leveraging your technical knowledge as opportunities arise in collaboration with the EDI team
- Collaborate with the EDI team to execute proposals
- Support other staff/projects within EDI
- Maintain full COVID vaccination passport/documentation
- Participate proactively in EDI’s health and safety program

- The aptitude to work collaboratively and effectively with junior, intermediate and senior staff of different disciplines, within teams on various projects of differing complexity, and with First Nations, sub-consultants and government agencies

**Job requirements include**:

- A minimum of 3 years of related experience (or equivalent)
- B.Sc. degree in biology or related discipline(s); M.Sc. degree optional
- Registration or eligibility for registration as R.P.Bio., P.Biol. or P.Ag.; alternatively, registration as a B.I.T. or A.I.T. for junior positions
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:

- Soil classification, terrain and land use
- Vegetation, including wetland assessments, weed surveys and rare plant surveys
- Avian identification, including breed bird surveys
- Fish and fish habitat assessments
- Wildlife surveys and habitat assessments
- Erosion and sediment control
- Environmental monitoring of construction
- Class 5 driver’s licence

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$89,000.00 per year
