Requirements

Partner Staffing is currently working with our client seeking an Emissions Technologist based in the Grand Prairie region.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Complete air emission tests on engines and boilers under the Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulations (MSAPR) including performance tests, emission checks, stack tests.

·         Perform calibrations on combustion gas analyzers

·         Compressor vent testing

·         Prepare and review of technical reports and proposals, scheduling, job planning

·         Project management activities including project scoping, cost estimating, planning, and invoicing

·         Communication with site operations to solve issues

·         All steps required to deal with leaking components

·         Meet project deadlines

·         Perform preventative maintenance

 

 

Desired Qualifications

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience

·         Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Environmental science or related discipline

·         Willingness to travel

About the Opportunity Our Client is currently seeking a Senior Biologist to join the team. Preference is for candidates to be based out of Fort St James, Fort St John, and Prince George, BC. However, we will consider candidates that reside outside of these areas. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading and joining field teams in various disciplines (wildlife, birds, fish, aquatic habitat, water quality, vegetation, soils, wetlands, environmental monitoring, sediment, and erosion control) Contributing to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals. Assisting in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects such as transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas, etc. Senior level responsibilities could include Field Coordination and Project Management Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within corporate culture More About You To qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in Biology or related discipline with five years’ experience, and RPBio, PBiol, and/or P.Ag. designation or eligibility. Courses or certifications in the following areas would be considered assets: · Electrofishing Certification (approved by WorkSafe BC) · Fish identification · Bird survey methodology and bird identification · Amphibian salvage methodology and amphibian identification · Erosion and Sediment Control · Plant identification Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered: Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities (i.e., wildlife assessments, bird surveys, water quality, fisheries inventories/ salvage, environmental monitoring/inspection) Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and physically fit Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, environmental discipline leads, and First Nations Proficiency in the operation of field equipment is an asset Due to the nature of the role, you must have a valid Driver's License. Lastly, you will be joining with the passion to contribute and believe in the work that they do.
