**POSITION **Manager of Plant Services
Indeterminate (Permanent) Full-Time

**JOB SUMMARY **The Manager of Plant Services oversees the proper maintenance of the physical plant and equipment. He/she must direct, coordinate and supervise the activities and staff of the Transportation, Laundry and
Linen, Security, Housekeeping and Plant Maintenance.
The Manager will assume responsibility for carrying out construction, renovation, conservation, and facility development projects.

**REQUIREMENTS **Must have a three-year CEGEP program for building with at least Five (5) years experience.
High school professional diplomas in plumbing and heating or refrigeration or ten (10) years experience in one of these fields is required
Must have Management skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture is an asset.
Working experience in administrative capacity required.

Annual Salary $74,481 to $96,826, depending on experience

**Manager-Employee Relationship**

Authority: The power to act for someone else

Accountability: The obligation to be held responsible for what was expected or what happened that was unexpected

Specific Functions of Management

Planning: Forecasting future events and determining the most effective future activities for the department

Organizing: The ways in which the department structure is established and how authority and responsibility are delegated to employees

Directing: How managers direct employees i.e. communication, managerial behaviour/style and the use of reward/merit and discipline

Coordinating: Activities designed to create a relationship between all of the department’s efforts

Controlling: How managers evaluate performance within the department with respect to the goals of the department and the organization

**JOB SUMMARY**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To ensure maintenance practices of plant and equipment are in accordance to accepted KMHC Codes of Good Practice and standards for Infection Control
- To ensure the development and maintenance of a departmental schedule and procedure manual
- To meet with the managers or the personnel concerned in-order to clearly define the objectives related to projects
- To coordinate the activities of professionals and entrepreneurs and carry out administrative and financial control over various projects
- To plan and participate in the preparation of short term and long-range plans and budgets for the department based on broad KMHC goals and objectives
- To maintain communication and public relations inter and intra departmentally
- To evaluate the results of overall operations and yearly departmental objectives regularly and systematically, reporting through an annual report for the Executive
