**Technical Advisor - Québec and the Maritimes (Entry Level)**

Location: Québec or the Maritimes, working remotely
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Compensation: $72,800 - $113,400, compensation offered will be based on skills, knowledge and experience

**ERAC requires this position to be located in either Québec or the Maritimes, working remotely from home.**

Since its inception more than 35 years ago, Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) has provided a quality system approach to manage emergency responses from the petroleum, transportation and agriculture industries. As a national, not-for-profit organization, we continue to evolve to meet the needs of our member organizations. Our commitment to excellence has allowed us to become the benchmark for emergency preparedness and response for flammable gases and liquids in Canada.

The Technical Advisor position is a great opportunity for an individual, new to the industry or already in the industry, to gain knowledge, experience, and growth while supporting ERAC’s emergency management preparedness and response program to support our Plan Participant members. All training and mentorship will be offered through the support of ERAC’s Operations Director and team.

As a Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting all ERAC assets and response teams in your territory, as well as engage in relationship building with all stakeholders while conducting regional training and assessments. While conducting regional training and assessments for our response teams, you will be responsible for ensuring they maintain the minimum equipment and scorecard requirements, and noting and communicating/coaching corrective actions, as required. You will be required to participate in an on-call rotation and can be activated to respond to incidents across Canada. All duties are to be carried out while keeping ERAC’s mission, vision and values top of mind.
- 2 years’ experience in the hazardous materials emergency response industry and/or industrial or municipal hazardous materials firefighting
- Oil, gas or chemical emergency preparedness and response experience
- Knowledge of Transport Canada Standards and Regulations
- Certifications in NFPA 1001 Level II - Professional Firefighter Qualifications, NFPA 1081 - Professional Industrial Brigade Member, NFPA 1041 Level II - Instructor Professional Qualifications and Rail Car Specialist Certification would be preferred, but not required
- ICS 100, 200 and 300 would be preferred, but not required
- Previous training and experience in containment, confinement and transfer of bulk LPG, flammable liquids, anhydrous ammonia and ammonia nitrate, and bulk flammable liquids and/or LPG firefighting would be preferred, but not required
- A home-based provincial driver’s license that will permit the towing of all ERAC trailers
- Criminal Background Check, Driver’s Abstract and Drug and Alcohol testing satisfactory to ERAC
