**Unified Alloys **is one of the largest suppliers of specialty steel, alloy piping and instrumentation products in Canada. We are currently looking to expand our **Warehouse** team and have a **Warehouse Manager **position available in our **Sarnia **operation.

**General Responsibilities**:
The Warehouse Manager is a part of the Warehouse Department. The Warehouse Manager provides leadership and oversees the warehouse operation in a safe, secure, efficient, and cost-effective manner that complies with company policy, procedures, ISO standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. The Warehouse Manager ensures the safe and proper receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of product.

**Warehouse Manager Overview**:

- Assume accountability for warehouse operations, operate within budget for operations and capital requests.
- Plan and organize warehouse activities; establish, document, and implement procedures, practices, and work methods to increase work effectiveness and efficiency.
- Coordinate special projects assigned to the department; ensure communication of expectations and deadlines and monitor progress providing updates to senior management as applicable.
- Oversee personnel including hiring / termination, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, and evaluating performance, initiating corrective or disciplinary actions and documenting absences.
- Assist in developing/modifying rules, practices, procedures, and standards for cross functional activities and / or special projects.
- Implement and monitor effective workflows within the operations to ensure safety and loss prevention criteria meet or exceed legislated / governed standards and to prevent injuries and protect company assets.
- Actively seek training and/or information on warehousing best practices to increase overall knowledge of industry (product, equipment, procedures, etc.), safe work practices and training requirements and availability. Make recommendations as appropriate.
- Actively meet with internal departments to ensure open lines of communication and alignment of objectives.
- Maintain and upkeep equipment and tools and conduct job hazard analysis’ as per company policy/procedures.
- Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment and staff by adhering to Quality, Health and Safety requirements and company policies and procedures.

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**:

- Effective people management skills with the ability to build a rapport with various personality types using diplomacy and tact.
- Strong knowledge of all warehouse procedures and techniques including packaging, sorting, stacking, product placement/picking, loading/unloading trucks, etc.
- Confidently operate and train others on all warehouse machines/tools (forklifts, saws, pipe threading, roll groove, CSA tester, banders, man lifts, hand tools, power tools, tube coiler, etc.).
- Knowledge of sales operations including logistics, carriers, policies, procedures, and product.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), negotiation and phone skills.
- Demonstrated competency in hiring, developing, and evaluating employees to achieve corporate and personal objectives.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00 per year
