Job Description: Summer Camp Instructor (Digital Design and Coding) - Grade 1-6

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Summer Camp Instructors specializing in Digital Design and Coding to join our team. As a camp instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and interactive digital design and coding activities for children in grades 1-6. Your role will involve facilitating hands-on learning experiences, fostering creativity, and promoting a fun and inclusive camp environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a curriculum for digital design and coding activities suitable for children in grades 1-6.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons and projects that introduce campers to various digital design concepts and coding languages.
- Create a supportive and inclusive camp environment where all campers feel encouraged to explore and learn.
- Guide and mentor campers in developing their digital design and coding skills, providing both individual and group instruction as needed.
- Utilize age-appropriate teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse learning styles and abilities of campers.
- Foster creativity and critical thinking by encouraging campers to solve problems and express themselves through digital design and coding.
- Organize and supervise group activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to plan and coordinate integrated activities and events.
- Monitor campers' progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians regarding their child's participation and achievements.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere, resolving conflicts and promoting positive behavior among campers.
- Ensure compliance with camp policies and procedures, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Qualifications:

- Experience in Computer Science, Digital Design, or Coding skills is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting.
- Strong knowledge of digital design principles, coding languages, and programming concepts suitable for children in grades 1-6.
- Familiarity with age-appropriate educational technology tools and resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate campers.
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with children of various ages and abilities.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and execute camp activities effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
- A current criminal record check or willingness to obtain one.

Working Conditions:

- This is a seasonal position for the duration of the summer camp program.
- Camp hours may vary, typically running Monday to Friday during daytime hours.
- The position may require standing, walking, and participating in outdoor activities with campers.
