We are looking for a Plant Maintenance Operator at our Walker NVIRO Biosolids Facility in Sudbury, ON.

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Plant Maintenance Operator inspects, operates, monitors and completes reports pertaining to processes and equipment for the proper operation of the Biosolids Processing Facility. This is a permanent, full time position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret meters, gauges, and other sensing devices to monitor plant operation.
- Operate various hand tools, pumps, and valves.
- Test and adjust chemical feed rates based on appropriate process calculations.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and interpret results.
- Complete required plant preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure that adequate levels of equipment, instruments, and supplies are maintained.
- Perform some housekeeping duties.
- Monitor and operate Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
- Ensure correct operation of wastewater treatment processes to meet by-law effluent compliance limits.
- Perform duties associated with confined space entry (i.e. tanks, chambers).
- Participate in on-call shift rotation, as required.
- Work in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or acceptable combination of education, experience and formal training.
- Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Level III preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, in oral and written form.
- Ability to understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a group environment as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
