Overview

Want to use your expertise in research methods and knowledge translation and dissemination to connect to a career that makes a difference? As the **Manager, Library Services and Knowledge Translation** within our Office of Learning, Leading, Sharing, you’ll do just that. Working closely with the Senior Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of a new strategic vision for Library Services and knowledge translation and dissemination of research intelligence at WorkSafeBC.

In this role, you’ll leverage your strong people management skills to provide leadership and direction to assigned staff within Library Services while managing the activities of your portfolio to ensure the effective delivery of services and implementation of organizational and divisional policies and programs.

You’ll take an enterprise view to ensure initiatives and activities within your portfolio are aligned to the priorities of the Board of Directors (BOD) and Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT). You will also provide expertise and guidance to the Senior Manager, colleagues, external researchers and internal stakeholders on matters related to research, knowledge translation, and dissemination.

**Where you’ll work**

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a **hybrid work model **that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you’ll work primiarly on-site at our Richmond office and occassionally work from home. Applicability to transition to working from home more frequently would be assessed at a later date.

What you'll do
- Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to departmental staff while ensuring necessary administrative and technical resources and services are available to support staff in performing their duties
- Assist with the development and implementation of the strategic vision and direction for the digital resources strategy, library services, collections, information resources, archives and knowledge management, ensuring enhanced value and access to WorkSafeBC stakeholders
- Manage library operations to ensure effective delivery of services while monitoring and adjusting activities to meet business plan objectives and respond to changing conditions
- Develop and implement a knowledge translation and dissemination strategy to share research information with internal and external stakeholders, including maintaining a departmental team site and developing knowledge products
- Oversee the publication of materials and reports for the department, including newsletters, external web page and information to be published in the WorkSafe Magazine or other external publications
- Work collaboratively with the research grants program to ensure knowledge translation components of funded projects are appropriately included and aligned with organizational priorities and intended outcomes/impacts through development of measures for impact analysis of funded research
- Work with technology and analytical tools to develop, collect and track metrics and impact measurements and analyze data to assess ongoing impact of Library services and Knowledge Translation and dissemination activities of the Office of Learning, Leading, Sharing

- Create a supportive and healthy working environment by ensuring effective communication, promoting teamwork, providing opportunities for staff involvement into planning and recognizing employees' contributions and achievements
- Provide support to staff as changes and new initiatives are implemented in the workplace

**Your background and experience**
- A **Master’s** **degree **in library science, epidemiology, occupational hygiene, or a related field
