**Calling All Nature Lovers - Supportive Assistant Needed**

An Oshawa family is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and engaging nature enthusiast. Someone who loves the outdoors, during all seasons, and would love to help a young 22-year-old man with his first volunteer role in community being a **Conservation Area Trail Steward.**

These are trained volunteers whose responsibilities include basic trail maintenance, informal educational engagement with the public, reporting of user and infrastructure needs, and some invasive species management. It would be a commitment of **5 hours biweekly** and would happen on a Wednesday or Thursday during the day. **The rate of pay is $23 per hour**, and you will be paid 0.60 cents per km to and from the assigned location. You must have a reliable vehicle and insurance. **Start date is Nov 5th or 9th for Training.**

This role would be best suited for someone who is reliable and can provide thoughtful and meaningful accompaniment. Someone who can engage a young man in ways that will assist him to build his skills and create new relationships.

**A police check will need to be completed and a letter will be provided once hired. The cost will be reimbursed by the program coordinator.**
- **This is a self-employed Independent Support Worker position. This position works directly with a family and all scheduling and training is family lead**_
