**Assistant Controller**

**Position title **:Assistant Controller

**Status **:Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday)

**Suggested salary **:$70,000 to $ 75,000

**Mode**: Hybrid (2 days in the office, office near down-town of Montreal)

Fundstream is a leader in Canadian gift card marketing and fulfillment. Operating since 2004 and providing its customers with national coverage and bilingual services, Fundstream offers three unique distribution channels (Fundraising, Incentives, Fulfillment) for gift cards and other prepaid products. Fundstream’s sophisticated gift card management and fulfillment platform provides advanced gift card capabilities, digital wallets, API connectivity and best-in-class delivery turnaround times.

Fundstream is constantly growing and innovating and is seeking to expand their Finance team with an Assistant Controller. This is a permanent, hybrid mode position.

**Your mission**:
Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for supporting the latter in activities related to financial accounting. The duties will include:

- Managing the general ledger.
- Performing journal entries, data entry, daily transactions registrations, and month end adjustments.
- Overseeing and execute the complete accounting cycle (payables, receivables, etc).
- Managing reconciliation (inventory and company’s accounts) and payroll processing.
- Printing cheques on a weekly basis.
- Exporting data and journal entries into Quickbooks.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Supporting and assisting the Controller in the year-end process and with both internal and external audits.
- Participating in the development of internal controls and ensure their follow-up.
- Ensuring accuracy in data and reporting, and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
- Preparing detailed reports, as required.
- Examining and analyze accounting records of Fundstream.
- Providing recommendations to improve and develop internal practices, policies, and controls within the company.
- Assuming the replacement of the Controller’s role when needed.
- Assisting the HR Manager with the opening of new employee files and coordinating the benefits (Employee Gift Card Purchase Program, Group insurance, etc. )
- Performing all other tasks inherent to the position and assigned to the incumbent.

**Education Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.

**Experience/Skills Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- QuickBooks experience is required.
- MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive).
- French and English language proficiency (written and spoken).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively alone and with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to take initiatives.
- Expertise in prioritizing and processing multiple requests (multitasking).
- Highly skilled in accounting and financial processes.
