Sagard, a multi-strategy alternative asset manager, is looking for one intern in Montreal and one intern in Toronto for the spring-summer season (May to August) to support the Legal Affairs team in its day-to-day activities and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative, scalable, and best-in-class legal practices.
This position provides a unique and exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organization, work closely with seasoned lawyers with top-tier firm experience in the fields of venture capital, private equity, royalties, private credit, and real estate, and gain experience in corporate, regulatory, compliance, and other areas of law.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide support on various legal matters relating to Sagard's activities and operations including fund formation, fundraising, investments, asset management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Assist with the review of a wide variety of contracts.
- Contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Legal Affairs department by bringing key legal projects to completion.

**Requirements**:

- Enrolled as a first-year student in a bachelor's law degree (BCL/LL.B) or JD program
- Strong interest in business law
- High academic achievement
- English required, with superior writing skills in English
- Fully bilingual (for Montreal office only)
- Proficiency with MS Office

**Length of Internship**

Full time from May to August 2024, with the possibility of part-time work thereafter

**Principales responsabilités**
- Fournir du soutien relativement à diverses questions d'ordre juridique liées aux activités et à l'exploitation de Sagard, y compris la formation de fonds, les levées de fonds, les placements, la gestion d'actifs, la gouvernance d'entreprise et les questions de conformité réglementaire.
- Aider à l'examen d'une grande variété de contrats.
- Contribuer à la réalisation des buts et objectifs du département des affaires juridiques en menant à bien des projets juridiques clés.

**Exigences**
- Inscription en première année à un baccalauréat en droit (BCL / LL.B) ou à un programme JD
- Intérêt marqué pour le droit des affaires
- Résultats scolaires élevés
- Parfaitement bilingue (pour le bureau de Montréal) et compétences supérieures en rédaction
- Maîtrise de la MS Office
