Located out of our Calgary office, the SOX Compliance Summer Student reports to the Manager, SOX Compliance and supports the compliance group goals, within the Center function.

Qualifications:

- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Co-op or Internship program
- Pursuing a master's or bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting
- Preference will be given to students in 3rd or 4th year

**Experience**:

- Oil and gas experience would be an asset
- Previous experience using SAP would be an asset

**Skills**:

- Mid to high-level understanding of accounting and audit concepts would be an asset
- Attention to detail, superior organizational skills, critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to multi-task required
- Ability to work independently and cohesively in a team
- Ability to work in a fast pace and timeline driven environment
- Excellent analytical and communication skills

Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the key controls walk-throughs with external auditors and the internal compliance team to support the annual internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) program
- Assist with the coordination of the quarterly SOX certification
- Provide support in documenting process changes using flowcharts and risk and control matrixes
- Assist with other administrative duties associated with the annual SOX program
- Perform other duties as assigned

Hours:
Monday-Friday 8 hours/day. May - August 2023
