Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a
**Material Planner**. This position is responsible for ensuring material availability across the shipyard and that material priorities are communicated cross functionality. The role involves day-to-day management of materials as well as project management of improvement initiatives to improve material availability and data integrity related to materials.

**Qualifications***:

- Education: Post Secondary Degree in business administration, engineering, or related disciplines required
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in a production environment is preferred
- Proven ability to achieve high performance levels in a complex fast-moving environment
- Proven experience adapting to new computer programs and systems
- Previous work with an MRP system is preferred
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure material is available and ordered prior to starting a construction unit
- Update weekly material reports
- Attend weekly status meetings on material availability in support of the production schedule
- Enter material status within MRP system daily
