Geocon Industries Ltd. is a growing civil construction contractor headquartered in Bow Island, AB, with an area of operations ranging throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. We undertake projects for commercial, agricultural and residential clients with a portfolio including civil work, site development, demolition, reclamation and general excavation.

We are looking for a skilled **office administrator/bookkeeper** to join our team as we seek to expand our business while continuing to provide professional civil construction services in an environmentally friendly fashion.

**Responsibilities**

**Bookkeeping**
- Perform accounts payable functions (data entry, track purchase orders, prepare cheques)
- Process invoices in cooperation with project managers
- Reconcile monthly statements (bank, credit cards)
- Prepare biweekly payroll including timecards, pay stubs and source deductions
- Set up new employees in the payroll system and benefits program
- File GST returns
- Prepare annual tax filings (T4, T5018, WCB, etc.)
- Prepare draft financial reports for management, bankers, insurance, etc. as needed (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, etc.)
- Record monthly and year-end journal entries

**Administration**
- Maintain physical and electronic filing systems
- Order office supplies
- Assist management with insurance policy administration
- Make bank deposits as needed

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in accounting and office administration
- Formal education in accounting or business administration would be advantageous
- Experience using Quickbooks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent organization, time management and administrative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work independently as well as in a fast-paced team environment
