The Alberta North Zone is an informally defined region encompassing most of the geographic area north of Edmonton. The approximately 386, 0000 residents live in communities such as Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie (the main centers of the North Zone), as well as smaller communities like Whitecourt, Athabasca, Hinton, Edson, Mayerthorpe, Westlock, Cold Lake, Peace River, High Level, and High Prairie.

The primary industries in northern Alberta are forestry, oil, and gas.

**FTE**: 1.0 FTE**Status**:Permanent**Hours per Week**: 37.5**Hours per Shift**: 7.5 hours per day**Reference ID**: QIL20230328**Primary Location**: Alberta (remote work and travel)**Salary Range**:$95,000 - $120,000/yr- Position Summary- Key Responsibility 1: Quality Improvement Expertise and Leadership
- Proven skills and expertise in quality and process improvement methodologies and practice
- Model and maintain professional requirements and active participation in professional development with quality improvement standards, emerging practices, etc
- Working collaboratively with the PCN Executive Directors and their practice facilitators to develop strategies and plans to improve and enhance quality improvement initiatives
- Assists and facilitates implementation of the zone service plan
- Provide guidance and support to evaluation and monitoring activities
- Key Responsibility 2: Evidence Based Practice, Research, and Knowledge Translation
- Maintain currency on best practices within quality improvement and change management
- Extensive knowledge of the evidence-based practice, quality and safety methodologies, and knowledge translation to improve patient care and the health care system
- Research, investigate and recommend strategic direction and best evidence to promote alignment, standardization, and consistency in quality improvement activities across the zone
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing including creative methods to communicate and share information and knowledge
- Key Responsibility 3: Change Management and Relationship Building
- Demonstrated ability to lead change in a complex environment
- Build and foster effective working relationships with all key stakeholders and partners
- Working collaborative with all change agents and champions in primary care to advance primary care practice transformation
- Engage with all organizations and communities to support quality improvement initiatives
- What you need to succeed...
- University education
- Minimum 5 years of quality/practice improvement related experience in a healthcare environment
- Evidence of certification in quality improvement e.g., Institute of Health Care Improvement (IHI) or process management e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, is required
- Experience and certification in change management is required
- Equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and expertise may be considered
- Experience working in primary care or community preferred
- Proven commitment to, and knowledge of, primary care and community health
- Strong group facilitation skills and conflict management experience
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment while conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and changes in primary care landscape
- Experience in stakeholder relations and engagement
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory processes and privacy/confidentiality e.g., Health Information Act, FOIPP
- Proficiency with computers and software (MS Office 365, Visio, etc.)
- Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor-vehicle for work-related travel is required
