**About this position**:
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Assistant, Human Resources is responsible for providing general administrative support in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department with a focus on the coordination and maintenance of records and files, assisting with recruitment, preparing routine correspondence, employee customer service. The Assistant, Human Resources is also responsible for maintaining and setting up information in the HRIS Systems.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the continuous improvement of HR programs, policies and procedures;
- Support HR initiatives, including the achievement of our strategic improvement goals and delivery of day-to-day HR services;
- Coordinate, track and manage flow of Human Resources forms;
- Administration and maintenance of records and personnel files, maintaining confidentiality at all times;
- Prepare new hire identification cards and new hire packages;
- Distribute exit interview and new hire questionnaires;
- Administration of employee service recognition award program;
- Prepare confirmation of employment letters;
- Support employees of all levels with any HR related queries;
- Order, maintain and distribute office supplies as needed;
- Mail distribution support;
- General administration duties;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_
- Minimum three (3) years post secondary education;
- Minimum one (1) year previous experience;
- The ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality is a must;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Previous experience entering data into an HRIS system; Ultimate Software an asset;
- Detail oriented;
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and effective time management;
- Possess a strong client focus, combined with excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Committed to continuous improvement and display a high level of initiative, creativity and enthusiasm;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
