Annual salary: $ 107,000.00 - 135,300.00

**What you'll do**
- As a Finance Professional, you will have the opportunity to learn about BC Hydro by working with a number of business
- units across the company, and you will be exposed to a variety of activities within the Controller’s group that will broaden
- your experience and knowledge.
- Reporting to the Manager Internal Controls, the primary focus of this role is to ensure appropriate controls are developed
- and implemented into financial processes and systems, and align with corporate policies and procedures. This role works- interpretation of financial policies, procedures and guidelines. Additionally, this role ensures BC Hydro’s fraud risk
- management program meets best practices, including fraud risk assessments, internal controls, data analytics, policies,
- procedures and fraud awareness training.**Responsibilities**:
- Reviewing and advising on financial risks and controls for IT and other projects that impact financial processes. Ensures

project has sufficient and robust control points to ensure financial data is not compromised.- Assessing current financial systems integrity; identifying internal control issues and reporting on activities implemented to

mitigate identified weaknesses.- Using best practices to develop financial, accounting and reporting policies, procedures, processes and controls within the- Creates financial process control review programs and ensures that policies are followed by testing financial controls

periodically and providing review results and recommendations in control reports to Directors of Finance.- Conducts analysis and prepares reports in response to requests from senior management for work related to special

projects, ad hoc queries, and special investigations.- Interpreting, training, and communicating to Finance staff on Corporate Policies and Procedures or otherwise advise on

financial processes from a controls perspective.- Works with staff in various departments across the Company (e.g. Finance, Technology, Regulatory, Communications,

Corporate Secretary, Operations, Legal) and maintains strong working relationships to support a team-oriented culture.- Oversee the fraud risk assessment process to identify and mitigate risks across the organization and maintain a

comprehensive fraud risk management program across the organization. Work closely with business process leaders to
- develop, implement and test operating effectiveness of mitigating controls to address areas of concern identified through
- the fraud risk assessment process.

**What you bring**
- Professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA or equivalent designation). An equivalent combination of education,

training and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience progressively gaining more responsibility working in financial controls, gained

by working in an internal or external audit capacity.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Knowledge and direct experience working with internal control models (e.g., COSO or Sarbanes-Oxley).
- Proven experience reviewing, interpreting, and providing guidance to users’ of Corporate or government policies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting to senior management, large groups and non
- finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proven knowledge and experience with financial systems, financial reporting, financial processes and internal controls

over financial reporting of a large, complex organization.
- Experience in using SAP an asset.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office 365 - Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word.
