Steep Slope Hoe Chuck Operator

**STEEP SLOPE HOE CHUCK OPERATOR**
**Role**:
This position will be responsible for navigating the terrain, stacking logs, and dragging the felled trees towards the nearest road, while specializing in steep slope harvesting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Safely operate Steep Slope Hoe Chucker, as required to meet daily plan and production targets
- Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition, reporting, and logging maintenance requirements or concerns
- Complete production reporting and other documentation as required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
- Operate other heavy equipment, if required
- Follow all site, company and client specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures
**Position Requirements**:
- Must be able to work with a grapple skidder, developing safe trails in steep ground to accommodate the skidder in challenging terrain
- Maintain 3-point contact on and off machine
- Ability to use multiple functions while operating equipment
- Monitor equipment performance while operating
- Situational awareness at all times
- Maneuver safely over a variety of terrain
- Ability to swing and control logs
- Ability to perform boom assisted turns
- Physically able to get up and down machine
- Able to perform simple maintenance and change attachments
- Hazard awareness knowledge and understanding
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Minimum 3 years of logging equipment experience
- Experience in steep slope logging operations
**Salary**: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
