K2 Stone, a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join the team at its production facility in South Nanaimo, BC. This is a new role being added to the Operations team due to consistent growth over the last several years.

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of the Operations Management team at K2 Stone Quarries. Responsibilities include orientation and training for new crew members, administration of production documentation and managing the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Program. Additional responsibilities in the form of special projects will also be assigned on an as needed basis.

**Compensation**
- $55,000 to $65,000 annually, dependent on experience

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage and maintain K2 Stone’s library of training materials, documenting new procedures and methods as needed.
- Conduct onboarding and orientation for new crew members.
- Deliver job instruction training to new crew members
- Manage the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Program, including conducting monthly safety meetings and daily safety initiatives
- Conduct risk and hazard assessments
- Ensure production and labor time entry is completed accurately each day.
- Compile weekly production meeting minutes
- Review production laborer applicants and schedule interviews
- Special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Operations Management or Business Administration
- 1-2 years’ administrative experience
- Prior experience working in an industrial environment
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
