International Business Development Leader

Purves Redmond Limited (PRL) is an innovative and entrepreneurial insurance brokerage and employee benefits consulting firm based in Toronto with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal. We have an exciting opportunity in our growing Toronto office for a business development leader to help us grow our International partnerships and networks.
**Role Description**:
**The key functions and responsibilities of this position are**:
- Manage and develop relationships with existing and potential international insurance broker partners, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, loyalty, and flow of new business opportunities
- Successfully grow PRL’s incoming international business
- Deliver pitches and provide training, guidance, and assistance to the broker partners on our capabilities, policies, processes, and team
- Facilitate and support the negotiation and implementation of contracts, agreements, and service-level standards with broker partners
- Monitor the progression and handling of incoming business opportunities and act as a liaison between the international partners and PRL’s business units
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and feedback of broker partners, and provide regular reports and insights to senior management and stakeholders
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify and capitalize on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges
- Represent and promote PRL at industry events, conferences, and meetings, and build and maintain a strong network of contacts and referrals
- Coordinate and execute sales and marketing strategies and initiatives to promote PRL within international networks
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, insurance, or related field
- Have a minimum 5-7 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in a broker relationship management or business development role
- Possess a strong knowledge of the Canadian insurance or benefits market, products, and regulations
- Are an excellent communicator, negotiator, and presenter
- Have the ability to build and maintain strong and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office and Applied Epic (preferred)
- Fluent in English and at least one other language is considered an asset
- Are willing and able to travel internationally as required
- Are a driven and enthusiastic learner who’s always looking to improve and develop
- Enjoy collaborating and working closely with teams
- Have a willingness to travel, approximately 25%-50% of the time
- Are committed to attaining or exceeding client expectations
