***Position Overview**:

- To manage a staff responsible for inventory control, materiel planning, and materiel related system issues.
- To develop performance metrics with targets for achievement. Strategize with the Materiel Management team on how to meet and exceed the performance targets.
- Support and enhance use of Materiel Systems and Processes.
- This position will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport._

***What You Will Do**:

- Provide leadership to inventory control team promoting efficiency and improving performance.
- Supervise and give direction relating to the use of JD Edwards within the entire materiel department.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory control issue before they occur.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels to support all program while increasing inventory turns.
- Report and monitor material performance metrics.
- Interface with other departments to improve materiel planning.
- Extract and analyze data from an MRP system to review and adjust inventory control levels.
- Report, investigate and action dead stock identify areas for improvement.
- Compile SQL queries to extract data for adhoc reporting.
- Managing multiple projects related materiel inventory improvements.

**What You Will Bring**:

- Bachelors Degree in engineering an asset.
- Related professional designation preferred but not required. (e.g. P. Eng, P. Log, CPIM)
- Advanced understanding of ERP system, JD Edwards preferred.
- Solid knowledge of MRP and Inventory Control practices.
- A solid understanding of relational databases.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Access, Word, SQL Server).
- An excellent understanding of supply chain relating to the aerospace and/or manufacturing industry.
- Advanced understanding of ERP systems and specifically MRP.
- Excellent knowledge of data control and data management.
- Superior analytical skills. Excellent time management and project management skills.
- 7+ years related experience.
- Manufacturing or Aerospace background with an emphasis on material preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems required, with a focus on inventory management and MRP.
- Experience working with SQL Server or similar type system.
- Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
- Previous experience in a managerial role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management. Promotes improve efficiency.
- Analytical approach to problem solving. Logical and decisive.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment while meeting deadlines.

- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
