**ABOUT CESBA**

CESBA currently supports 26 school boards that offer the Personal Support Worker, (PSW), certificate training programs across the province. This project will unfold over the next 2 years supporting the needs of PSW students and graduates and LTC homes.
CESBA is launching a new Long Term Career Navigator project that is two-fold:
1. Increasing awareness and advocacy for a career in the LTC sector through the support of a Long-Term Care Career Navigator and six regionally focused PSW Champions;
2. Increasing recruitment and retention of school board PSW graduates into 12 targeted LTC homes through focused supports for on-boarding.

CESBA is offering a compressed, contracted four-day work week position which provides the flexibility to manage your time and energy, combined with meeting the expectations of this initiative. You will be given meaningful work to engage your capabilities. Our organization operates fully remotely with a fair amount of travel throughout Ontario based on the needs of the project to PSW programs and LTC homes. The annual salary is $75,000 as well as compensation for travel expenses.

**ABOUT YOU**

As we look to create innovative and sustainable ways to deliver the LTC Career Navigator project, we are looking forward to welcoming an individual who will bring their passion to our vision - to be a key partner to champion PSW students and graduates to enter the LTC field.

To be successful in this role, ideally you are someone who has:

- Project management and development experience to engage and optimize the contributions of a multi-disciplinary team, group, or committee, to execute deliverables;
- A post-secondary achievement preferably with a focus on project management, health care and education, or at least 5 years’ equivalent experience in the health care field with management and LTC experience preferred;
- Educational and/or work-related experience in health care community stakeholder relations;
- Strong knowledge of the PSW education sector through Ontario school boards;
- Strong knowledge of the LTC home sector;
- Ability to recognize opportunities, realities, and limitations, to inform project objectives;
- Expertise in coordinating like-minded professionals to share perspectives and promising practices;
- Experience in creating innovative programming and producing professional development events, both in-person and virtual;
- Expertise in facilitating and presenting to a vast variety and size of audiences;
- A demonstrated passion and ability for envisioning, embracing, and supporting innovation;
- An ease with a remote work environment, and the availability and ability to travel frequently to locations in the province for in-person meetings and capacity-building events (an automobile is required for this position);
- Strategic and critical thinking skills, with stellar verbal and written communication skills;
- An ease with working independently for much of this project;
- Proficiency with digital tools (e.g., MS Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.); and
- French language skills strongly encouraged.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

At CESBA, we are uncovering new opportunities and exploring uncharted territory to expand our reach and impact across the province to support the critical need for PSWs.

Working with the CESBA PSW Program Lead to advocating for LTC career opportunities to school board PSW students, your key priorities will include:

- Assist with the development of an increased awareness, advocacy and networking portfolio of in-person and virtual campaigns throughout Ontario;
- Assist in the hiring of six regional PSW Champions (2 in the North, 2 Central, 1 in the West, 1 in the East);
- Consult with 12 targeted LTC homes to establish gaps, identify needs and assist with development plans for recruitment and retention;
- Facilitate and provide awareness, advocacy for, and networking campaigns, alongside the six regional PSW Champions to school board PSW programs, SHSM (Specialized High Skills Major) programs, career days, employment agencies along with other yet to be identified opportunities;
- Present in-person and virtual workshops and training to LTC home staff, and school board staff to support with the success of on-boarding PSW students and graduates into the LTC sector;
- Support the collection of data and conduct evaluations.

Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
