**Title**:Sales & Events Manager
**Reports to**:CEO
**Location**: Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, 204-299 Concession Street, Kingston ON, K7K 2B9
**Position Summary**:
For more than 180 years the GKCC has provided value to its members through active advocacy, connecting leaders and creating opportunity. The Chamber is the voice of business in Kingston and advocates at the local, provincial and federal levels on behalf of 650 companies representing 18,00 employees.
The Sales & Events Manager is accountable for the planning, development, management and assessment of the Chamber’s high-profile events. These events reinforce the Chamber’s active role in the business community and are aligned with the Chamber’s brand through its strategic plan, visual identity and corporate messaging.
Key accountabilities:
- Review, manage, and execute the coordination of complex signature events from beginning to end.
- Ensure all networking and professional development initiatives have clear outcomes and success metrics aligned to the membership value proposition.
- Provide oversight of all assigned programs and set and monitor program budgets.
- Assume responsibility of important accounts and cultivate new relationships in support of the annual sponsorship and partnership plan.
- Secure significant cash sponsorships and in-kind products and services in accordance with the annual sponsorship plan.
- Prepare event proposals, draft event scripts/agendas, and prepare briefing packages for CEO and Board of Directors.
- Draft contracts and process invoices for suppliers, sponsors, and registrants.
- Prepare materials and event content for website and social media in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Analyze the success of events and drive the program postmortems to identify successful and unsuccessful program elements.
- Maintain regular contact with current and prospective members, always ensuring an effective line of communication to support membership strength and growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position requirements:
- Three (3) Year Diploma/Degree in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies and Event Management, or directly related discipline;
- 5 years’ experience sales, event management and/or marketing; experience in a non-profit or membership focused organization would be an asset;
- Exceptional written, oral, editorial communication/public speaking skills;
- Demonstrated time management skills and an ability to prioritize and manage several concurrent projects;
- Effective communication and negotiation skills;
- Strong business acumen;
- Detail-oriented and persuasive.

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
