Located at 3099 Barrington Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3K 5M7, Irving Shipbuilding has a proud history as Canada's shipbuilder. A proud member of the J.D. Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20+ modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. We are currently building the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years. The fourth ship will be delivered in this year.

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a **Night Shift Corimpex T-Beam Welder OPERATOR **for current and future opportunities.

**The Night Shift Corimpex T-Beam Welder Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of the T-Beam welder.**

**Working hours will be 1600-0200 Monday to Thursday (4x 10-hour shifts)**

**Qualifications**:

- **Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.**:

- **High standard of integrity and professionalism.**:

- **Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.**:

- **Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being self-motivated to be able to work without supervision when required.**

**All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).**

**Key Requirements**:

- **Operators using the Automatic T-Beam welder must possess Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Automatic Welding Certificate or be under the immediate supervision of a qualified welding operator.**:

- **Wear company issued coveralls and/or work wear and all assigned Personal Protective Equipment.**:

- **Work safely.**:

- **A pre-employment physical is required.**:

- **A background check will be performed by the Company.**

**Training**:

- **In-house training will be given on Day Shift & is expected to take 4-6 weeks. Employee will then transition to Night Shift.**:

- **For training purposes, any new employee being trained must have supervised training with an experienced welding operator until competent in operation & receives the CWB Automatic Horizontal Welding Certificate. This must be signed off by a competent external welding company.**
