The Opportunity
The Associate Analyst is responsible for ensuring Investor settlement reports and funding receipts are accurately prepared, posted, reconciled daily and reported to the Investor in the timelines required in accordance with company policy.
**How you will contribute**:
- Establish and maintain positive relationship with investors
- Prepare settlement reports for investors in accordance with investor specification and timelines
- Confirm settlement funds received at bank and post to general ledger
- Prepare daily report to identify trust loan disbursements
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly funding reconciliation reports
- Reconcile investor ledger accounts to investor asset balance reports
- Transfer ownership and reconcile investor asset balances
- Advance/payout loans on the mortgage administration system
- Conduct monthly review of service fees
- Perform a monthly reconciliation of refinance penalty costs
- Perform monthly reconciliation and reallocation of broker buydowns
- Daily review and correction of origination and administration data discrepancies
- Respond to all inquiries within established turnaround times
- Adhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable.
- Cross train in other roles and functions in Mortgage Accounting
- Other duties as assigned
**The experience you need**:
- You have acquired a post-secondary diploma or degree
- You have some experience in the mortgage industry (may not be applicable for entry-level positions)
- You enjoy problem-solving
- You have an accounting background (preferable)
- You have time management skills
- You are proficient with Microsoft excel
**Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis**:
- Office environment
- Periods of high volume with tight timelines
- Long periods of stationary position/sitting
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
- Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
- Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
